Q. If a job ad doesn't ask for a cover letter, should I send one anyway?
A. You don’t need to send a cover letter if the job application doesn’t specifically request one. If a company wants your cover letter, they will ask for it.
What you can do instead is copy and paste the body of your cover letter into the box on the application where you can enter free-form text (many Monster job ads include this feature). This way, you’re still providing the information that’s on your cover letter without sending it as a separate document.
