Companies hiring to fill urgent demands

Drivers, service reps, and stock clerks are among the open jobs.

Looking for jobs hiring immediately? You’re not alone. For the week ending March 14, the government announced that the number of unemployment claims had risen to 281,000, which was an increase of 70,000 claims reported previously, and the highest level since September 2017.

“A number of states specifically cited COVID-19 related layoffs, while many states reported increased layoffs in service-related industries broadly, and in the accommodation and food service industries, specifically, as well as in the transportation and warehousing industry, whether COVID-19 was directly identified or not,” a statement from the U.S Department of Labor reported. Global outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas has so far tracked over 9,000 job cut announcements due to coronavirus.

But a handful of companies have seen their hiring needs dramatically rise to keep up with the demand for essential goods and services. Below is a list of companies that have announced special hiring initiatives, as well as links to their jobs on Monster.
